But what if i didn't feel like making reels?
One of the best parts about my training excursion at a Joshi wrestling promotion in Japan was just how frequently I was exposed to the sport. I had the opportunity to train for hours, 3-5 days in the week. Every weekend, we'd host a show. Compare that to the Philippines where we train 1-2 times a week, with shows every month or two. I felt the rapid improvement and once I got back home, It was a conscious effort to continue improving and maintain what i've learned.
Little hard to do right now with a busted wrist at the moment, but I digress.
It was just nice to just worry about form and technique. While that's still very much my priority back home, there's added element of needing to have a presence online to draw more folks to our shows. Alongside in-ring + promo skills, I also have to think about a social media posting schedule, content ideas, etc.
Initially I planned to just get by with match photos and maybe the occasional slice-of-life stuff. But the reality is that I only have a handful of matches (just 5 as of writing), so the content runs out quickly. And i'd prefer not to film and edit reels based on trends -- not because I feel like i'm above it, but because its a bit outside my comfort zone.
I understand that it's just the reality of working here in the PH, where the scene and audience is quite small. And while I'm sure i'll be more comfortable with it in time, i can at least complain about it a little here.
